Xiaomi’s Bold Strategy: $14 Million in Dealer Bonuses and Record EV Revenue

admin December 21, 2025

Substantial Dealer Bonuses Announced

Xiaomi has made headlines by distributing over $14 million in cash bonuses to its dealerships across China. This move, announced as part of the company’s year-end incentives, aims to reward dealers for their loyalty and support as Xiaomi navigates its rapid expansion in the automotive market. Reports indicate that dealers received these bonuses in the form of “red envelopes,” with amounts varying based on store performance and establishment dates. New stores opened in 2024 received ¥100,000 (approximately $14,200), while those that opened before December 15, 2025, were eligible for ¥500,000 (around $71,000) per outlet. Some dealers even received substantial payments exceeding ¥4 million (about $568,000)

Record-Breaking EV Revenue

In addition to the dealer bonuses, Xiaomi’s electric vehicle segment reported an impressive $4.10 billion in revenue for the third quarter of this year, representing an astonishing year-over-year growth of approximately 197.9%. This surge in revenue marks a significant milestone for Xiaomi, as the company achieved its first quarterly operating profit of around ¥700 million (approximately $96 million) since launching its automotive division.

Rapid Expansion of Sales Network

As of November, Xiaomi Auto has established a robust network with 441 stores in 131 cities across China and 249 service outlets in 144 cities. This rapid expansion is not coincidental; it aligns closely with the recent dealer cash payouts and is critical for supporting the company’s aggressive sales strategy. The dealer bonuses directly correlate with a notable increase in monthly deliveries, which have surged from 20,000 to more than 45,000 units as of November.

Sales Milestones and Model Performance

Xiaomi has also achieved significant production milestones, with the production of its 500,000th vehicle recently. The company’s two flagship models, the SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV, have contributed to this achievement, with total sales reaching approximately 361,600 vehicles in the first eleven months of 2025. Notably, the SU7 accounts for about 247,000 units, while the YU7 has seen sales of around 114,600 units.

Strategic Implications for Xiaomi’s EV Future

This aggressive dealer incentive strategy and impressive revenue growth underscore Xiaomi’s commitment to becoming a significant player in the EV market. By leveraging its existing retail ecosystem and integrating advanced technologies, Xiaomi aims to enhance customer acquisition and expand its footprint. The substantial cash bonuses, alongside the increase in store locations, signal the company’s intent to ramp up production and sales, with a revised target of 400,000 units by 2025. However, challenges remain, including component cost volatility and the fierce competition within the domestic EV landscape.
