Tesla has made a significant move in India’s electric vehicle landscape by inaugurating its third charging hub in Gurugram, Haryana. This strategically located hub enhances the company’s presence in the burgeoning Indian EV market, following the recent launch of an integrated Tesla Centre in the same city. Charging Hub Specifications

Located at the DLF One Horizon Centre, the new hub features:

• Four V4 DC Superchargers capable of delivering up to 250 kW each.
• Three AC Destination Chargers with a peak output of approximately 11 kW.
• Charging costs are set at ₹24 (around €0.23) per kWh for Superchargers and ₹14 (about €0.13) for Destination Chargers.

This hub not only supports long-distance travel but also caters to quick top-ups for local visitors, enhancing convenience for Tesla owners.

Impacts on Tesla’s India Strategy

The Gurugram hub, Tesla’s third public charging location in India, complements existing hubs in New Delhi and Mumbai. Tesla currently offers the Model Y in two rear-wheel-drive variants: the Standard Range RWD and the Long Range RWD, both benefiting from the new charging infrastructure.

The Long Range variant can leverage the full potential of the V4 Superchargers, allowing it to add up to 267 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes. The Standard Range model can gain 238 kilometers in the same timeframe, showcasing Tesla’s commitment to reducing charging times for its customers.
