Tesla is ramping up its energy storage game with the acquisition of a massive facility for its new Megapack Megafactory in Brookshire, Texas. This major investment marks a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to boost manufacturing capabilities for utility-scale battery systems.

The Megapack Megafactory will occupy two substantial buildings within the Empire West Industrial Park, totaling 1,655,523 square feet. Building 9, which encompasses around 1 million square feet, will serve as the primary assembly floor for Megapacks, while Building 10, covering 600,000 square feet, will be dedicated to warehousing and logistics. Both buildings are fully leased to Tesla under a long-term agreement, recently sold by Stream Realty Partners to BGO on behalf of an institutional investor, as reported by Teslarati.

Tesla is set to invest nearly $200 million into the new facility. Tax Incentives and Employment Goals

Waller County’s approval of a 10-year tax abatement plan provides Tesla with up to a 60% reduction in property taxes, contingent upon meeting specific investment and hiring benchmarks. The company aims to hire at least 375 employees by the end of 2026, scaling up to 1,500 by 2028.
